Wadi Al Debaiaan
Geographic Feature: Wadi
Description: The Arabic word "wadi” refers to a “valley” in English. A full-fledged definition for the word “wadi" would be a “steep -sided rocky ravine in a desert or semi-desert area, usually streamlines containing a torrent for a short-time”. The other constituent of the name is the word "debaiaan" meaning "two hyenas" in English. The geographic name of this wadi is derived from the fact that it pours its waters into Al Debaiaan; a plain named after two hyenas used to dwell in the region. Hence, it was termed Wadi Al Debaiaan.
