The other constituent of the name is "Senan" a name of the person who constructed a well. The area consists of a village derives its geographic name from the well that used to exist in the region. Hence, it was termed Ain Senan.
The authoritative Arabic language dictionary, Mujam Al Bildan a reference for place-names defines Al Ain as a town in Yemen. Many other Ain’s have been defined for example Ain Tamr in Kufa, Ain Al Baqar in Akka (Palestine) and another Ain Jalout in Napolis (Palestine).
