Al Kharsaah

Description: The Arabic word “Kharsaah” is the local term used to refer to a “hole in the ground surface”. According to citizens beliefs, they were formed by falling stars. However, the scientific explanation is that these holes were formed by solution of the limestone layer on the ground surface, the initial stage in formation of caverns. The area, a village derives its geographic name from a depression or pit “Kharsaah” that existed in the region. Hence, the region was termed Al Kharsaah.
